Congressman Anthony D’Esposito to be Recognized at Inaugural Long Island Italian Celebration

Congressman Anthony D’Esposito is the latest to be announced as an honoree of the Italian American Heritage Society of Long Island. Tickets and sponsorships are available for the event now.

“Italian Americans have long played a vital role in the civic, the cultural, and spiritual life of Long Island, and I am immensely proud to celebrate the contributions of this thriving community that I consider myself a part of,” said D’Esposito. “I am grateful for the Italian American Heritage Society of Long Island for working diligently to pass along our Italian culture to the next generation of Long Islanders.”

Congressman D’Esposito represents New York’s 4th Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives. The district, comprising the majority of the Town of Hempstead and the City of Long Beach on Long Island, is a culturally diverse suburban locale known for its miles of sandy beaches, thriving downtown business districts, and quaint communities.

In Congress, he serves on the House Committee on Homeland Security, the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, and the House Committee on House Administration.  In addition, he serves as Chairman of the Subcommittee on Emergency Management and Technology. He is a member of the Problem Solvers Caucus, a bipartisan caucus with Republican and Democratic members working together to find common ground and pass bipartisan legislation amidst a polarized time in our Nation.

Before being elected to Congress, he served as a Councilman in the Town of Hempstead from 2016 to 2023. Earlier in his career, he fought crime on the streets of New York as an NYPD Detective for more than a decade — making over 600 arrests in connection with murders, shootings, assaults, and illegal firearms. His first responder experience also extends to the fire service, where he served as Chief of the Island Park Fire Department – notably leading the volunteer organization through the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy.
