Long Island, NY – September 4, 2024 – The Italian American Heritage Society of Long Island (IAHSLI), a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving, advocating, and building awareness of the Italian American community for the next generation, announced the appointment of Silvia Davi to its Executive Board. The IAHSLI continues to grow its leadership with dedicated Italian Americans who take pride in educating local and national communities about the contributions of Italians and Italian Americans within Long Island and beyond.
Silvia Davi, a career strategic marketing, corporate communications/public relations, business development, executive, entrepreneur, contributor, adjunct professor, and board member, was added to the organization’s Executive Board with a focus on the development of the nonprofit within Nassau County along with new content and programming. Silvia resides with her family on Long Island in Manhasset, NY.

The goal is to foster a community that resonates with today’s Italian Americans, particularly on Long Island focusing on its history, evolution, and impact across all sectors of life. As one of the largest ethnic groups in the United States and one of the most abundant global cultures, it’s nice to celebrate its deep history and modern-day achievements while cultivating its growth for future generations of Italian Americans in New York. I look forward to working with Chris to further the IAHSLI mission and shed light on Italian American values, milestones, facts, and local history of leaders paving the way,” commented Silvia Davi.

Davi is currently President and Co-Founder of V&S Strategic Consulting, a boutique advisory firm that focuses on strategic marketing, business development, brand, corporate communications, public relations, global affairs, digital, investor relations, strategic partnerships, and social purpose. She is also the Founder of Renaissance Minds, a lifestyle blog that features interesting factoids along with multifaceted executives, notables and founders, with a focus on uncovering interesting stories that capture a modern renaissance mindset. She currently also collaborates with the National Italian American Foundation (NIAF) for her blog.
Her experience stems from global communications consultancies, in-house Fortune 500 organizations, start-ups, and nonprofits across industries. She is an accomplished C-suite executive, entrepreneur, content and broadcast contributor, coach, and a multilingual public and international affairs expert who cultivates a global network of journalists, analysts, notables, influencers, and investors with a focus on financial services, technology, media, lifestyle, sports, and entertainment.
Among her professional experiences, Silvia served from 2003 to 2011 as an officer at Nasdaq, where she was Global Head and Vice President of the exchange’s media strategy, public relations and led the exchange’s broadcast studio in Times Square, Nasdaq MarketSite. In that role, she also led corporate communications, brand, and marketing for the exchange’s trading, listings, technology, ETF, and data businesses, working closely with the executive team globally and advising innovation-driven Nasdaq listed companies.
Davi started her career at some of the most reputable communications consultancies, Edelman and Ogilvy Public Relations, within their Corporate, Financial Communications/Investor Relations Practices, where she advised blue-chip companies. She has received various industry accolades throughout her career, such as the Markets Media’s “Women in Finance” in 2018 for “Excellence in Communications, Marketing, and Reputation Management” and was named to the “Women in Fintech Power List 2017” by Innovation Finance. She also received a Big Heart for Philanthropy Award by the National Securities Traders Association In 2021.
Silvia currently also serves on the Board of Directors of the national nonprofit Tuesday’s Children and is on various advisory committees, such as the Museum of American Finance (MOAF). She graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications Arts and Media and an honors minor in Business and Liberal Arts from Queens College, CUNY. She has completed Executive Leadership Education programs at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, including Strategic Persuasion, Negotiation, and the Art and Science of Selling Ideas. Davi is a multilingual professional fluent in Italian and Spanish and has studied Modern Greek, French, and Portuguese. At Hofstra University, Silvia has also served as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Journalism, Media Studies, and Public Relations from 2007-2011.
